CRITICAL tech support
Is “quick support app bank scam” a scam?
Yes — this is a known, dangerous scam.
Caller poses as bank customer care saying your KYC is pending or your account is compromised. They send an SMS with a link to install AnyDesk or Quick Support remote-access app, then drain your account.
How to tell
- ⚠ Your bank will never ask you to install a third-party remote-access app
- ⚠ Caller sends an SMS with an app download link — this is the scammer's link, not your bank's
- ⚠ Once the app is installed, the scammer can see your screen and transfer money
- ⚠ They may ask you to enter your net banking credentials or OTP while 'showing them the problem'
What to do right now
- 1 Do not install any app the caller asks for
- 2 Hang up and call your bank's official number on the back of your debit card
- 3 If you already installed the app, uninstall it immediately and change your net banking password
- 4 If you installed any 'support' or 'server' or 'refund app' or remote-access app at the scammer's request (AnyDesk, TeamViewer, Quick Support, etc.), run free SeraphSecure (https://www.seraphsecure.com) to detect and remove it.
- 5 Report at https://cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930 (national cyber helpline).
